Detention Advice Service (DAS) is a registered charity providing immigration advice, information and support to those detained, or threatened with detention, under immigration powers.

DAS news
'Foreign national prisoners - Meeting the challenges ahead', the report of our 20th anniversary conference, is now available to read, here.

Advice work
DAS works in prisons providing immigration advice, information and support to foreign national prisoners and detainees. We also provide advice via phone and post to those held in sites across the UK that we do not visit, and to those who work with or visit foreign national prisoners and detainees.

Training
DAS offers training for those working with foreign national prisoners and detainees to help ensure a better understanding of their needs and to promote effective ways of working with them. We also provide training, information and support to community groups affected by detention, deportation and related issues.

Raising awareness

DAS works to raise awareness of the issues affecting foreign national prisoners and detainees, and to advocate policy responses to these groups that are centred on fairness and effectiveness.

Sign up to our newsletter
DAS' newsletter covers our news and updates, as well as policy developments, publications and media coverage relating to foreign national prisoners and detainees. You can sign up here.
